Most frequent causes of workplace incidents are connected with mobile equipment. Being as an employer, you have your moral and legal responsibility to provide latest, fault free mobile plants and proper training before assigning your employees to work tasks on it.
The first step is the risk assessment for the plant that is planned to be set in operation. Some of the integral attributes of a mobile plant are its mobility in mixture with the level of the competences of the operator, specific to the environment of the worksite, the presence of people at a workplace, and maintenance requirements related to risk assessment of the said plants.
For the risk assessments of these mobile units, there are various third party agencies which provide their services with regards to the provision of clearance certifications. Almost most of the countries have legal rules, regulations and requirements to get third party fitness certifications to make sure the health and safety of their workforce. What does mean by a Mobile Plant?

The mobile plant applies to any machinery, tool, equipment, implement, any fittings and components of the equipment are termed as a plant.  There are several kinds of mobile plant used in various Organizations and industries such as manufacturing, mining, construction, transport, agriculture, fishing, and forestry, etc. Following are some mobile plants examples used for multiple purposes like:

Risk elements and Injuries related to Mobile Plant Risk Assessment

The strength of the mobile plant is its most necessary features which present a basic worksite hazard. The most frequent causes of mobile plant-related incidents and unwanted consequence and conditions can be categorized into four classifications:

1. Work organization

It includes lack of, or inadequate supervision, miscommunication, or fail to communicate,  time pressures,  poor planning and design of the workplace, task or the plant itself.

2. Equipment

It includes a poor selection of mobile plant, lack of maintenance, or inadequate maintenance, lack of control measures, manufacturing faults, design faults and environmental factors such as terrain.

3. Procedures

It includes, lack of, or inadequate procedures or fail to adhere to the procedure, over-use or inadequate use, an unauthorized person operates or maintains the plant

4. People

It includes lack of or inadequate training in using the plant, operating and even maintenance of plant, lack of knowledge or experience with the working of the plant, unauthorized access and lapses in the concentration by the operator of the plant.
