1. All plants to have flashing beacons and reversing warning horns.
2. Only authorized operators to operate the site plant/machinery.
3. All plants are to be switched off and immobilized when left unattended.
4. Access must be provided for the public and kept safe and tidy. Care must be taken not to obstruct footpaths and other access routes.
5. Excavations to be guarded, and barriers and warning signs erected.
6. Where possible perimeter fencing or hoarding should be erected.
7. Warning notices should be displayed.
8. Ladders should be removed to a secure compound or rendered unclimbable.
9. Ensure stacked materials are stable and not too high.
10. Sometimes it may be appropriate to employ the services of a security organization or watchman.
