Visual Inspection Items

1. Check for broken, missing, or damaged parts and loose or missing fasteners
2. Check that no safety switches have been bypassed and no warning tags have been placed on the vehicle
3. Check the operation of the backup alarm
4. Verity the safety signs and special instructions are legible
5. Check the forks for welds, cracks, or misalignment
6. Check that the means to retain the forks are in place
7. Check the tires for cuts, and bulges, and correct the pressure
8. Verify the parking brakes are operating properly
9. Check the cleanliness of the engine and radiator
10. Check the engine oil and cooling system for proper levels
11. Check the fluid level of the hydraulic system
12. Check the hydraulic hoses and hose connections for wear and leaks
13. Check the condition of the seat belt
14. Check the steps, pedals, and non-skid surfaces for damage
15. Check the lights, mirrors, and windows for cleanliness and damage
16. Ensure the mast sliding and/or all rolling members move freely
17. Ensure the lifting and reach mechanisms move freely
