Self-Inspection Checklist

  1. Are employees or their designated representatives provided, on request, access to personal medical and exposure records in a reasonable time, place, and manner? 
  2. Are employees informed of the existence, location, and availability of medical and exposure records? 
  3. Are employees informed of the person responsible for maintaining and providing access to medical and exposure records?
  4. Are employees informed of their rights to access medical and exposure records? 
  5. Are all employees informed annually of the existence, location, and availability of medical and exposure records? 
  6. Are all employees informed annually of the person responsible for maintaining and providing access to medical and exposure records? 
  7. Are all employees informed annually of their rights to access medical and exposure records? 
  8. Is a copy of 29 CFR 1910.1020 and its appendixes available on request to any employee? 
  9. If an employee transfers to another school or job, are all medical and exposure records transferred with him or her? 
  10. Are medical and exposure records maintained for at least 30 years? 


Note: 

Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and records concerning the identity of a substance or chemical/agent need not be retained for any specified period as long as some record of the identity (chemical name if known) of the substance or other chemical/agent, where it was used, and when it was used is retained, and kept for at least thirty 30-years.
