FlashPoint-PowerPoint

What is Flash Point (FP)?

Flash point (FP) of any substance such as (crude oil/petroleum is the lowest temperature at which a liquid can form an ignitable mixture in air near the surface of the liquid.

The lower the flash point, the easier it is to flare up the substances. For example, gasoline (crude oil/petroleum) has a Flash Point (FP) of-40’s degree Celsius (-40 Fahrenheit) and is more flammable than Ethylene Glycol-EG (antifreeze) which has a flash point of 111 degree Celsius (232 Fahrenheit).

What Is Ignition Point (IP)?

The minimum temperature at which a substance will continue to burn without supplementary application of extraneous heat. Ignition Point also termed kindling point.
